This is important in places where distance and major events, such as natural disasters, cause significant hardship and distress.
The National Recovery and Resilience Agency was established in response to the Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster.
The Agency combines expertise in natural disaster response, recovery and resilience, working closely with affected communities and all levels of government and industry.
The National Recovery and Resilience Agency supports rural and regional communities through major events by:
• Running ‘one-stop-shop’ Community Outreach events in partnership with Rotary
• Providing sponsorship to events
• Working in partnership with local communities to support or run other events. This includes a digital presence in the wake of COVID-19. These include small town tours and Café conversations.

Events have been held in Omeo, Nowa Nowa, Buchan and Mallacoota. The community outreach events were attended by a multitude of agencies working to support communities affected by the Black Summer fires. Locals enjoyed the opportunity to be updated on the current support available and a mouth-watering BBQ offered by Rotary.
